Quick Extra Income
There are several ways you can earn quick extra income. Many of them you can launch quickly and start earning within hours or at least within a day or two. I have looked at many of these great opportunities and like them because none of them are very difficult to do. If you have some skills and are interested in trying something new that won’t take long to establish, here is a list of potential income opportunities that will return you quick cash.
Pet Programs – A great source of quick extra income is products and services aimed at our fur babies. Pets are huge business for more than just pet food stores and veterinarians. The services you could provide from your home can include dog walking, pet sitting, pet grooming and more. You can earn anywhere from $10 to $60 per hour on any of these services which have an ongoing demand so any that you start will have a fair deal of longevity to it once you establish clientele. Skill Teaching – We all have a set of skills. Those skills will be in demand if you use them creatively. For example, if you have a skill that you can market, you can host a workshop or a series of programs related to that skill. Employment centers, adult-learning facilities and local arts councils are always looking for programs of interest to offer other community members. You could be sharing your love of cooking or painting and earning extra income as a result. Pay would vary but could be in the hourly range of $20 to $50 per.
Tutor Young Students – With the potential of earning between $20 and $60 per hour, why wouldn’t you consider teaching skills to children? If you have a knack with young learners, this could be right up your alley. English is in demand so you could be teaching youngsters from all over the globe. There are many places online to register and start advertising your service.
Room Rentals – Empty nesters have extra room, usually a spare bedroom, that can quickly turn into an income earner. Craigslist and numerous other online sites are where you can advertise the space. If you happen to live near a university or some other post-secondary school teaching facility you will find there is a demand. It’s your choice if you wish to rent the room furnished or not and what other parts of your home are ‘shared’ with the rental price. If your home has a complete basement suite or a small outbuilding that can be converted into living quarters you’ll be able to earn even more. Expect anywhere from $400 to $700 per month as a result. You can make even more renting the room nightly on airBnB or VRBO, but you will have to handle housekeeping after each guest leaves.
Earn Pay For Your Say – Market research firms are looking for your input. In fact, some will pay you up to $100 per session with the average between $40 and $100. All you need to do is register at any of the popular survey sites online and wait for the surveys to come into your e-mail inbox. Some of these marketing research firms have a series of surveys you can just respond to on their website with no limits – provided you qualify for the specific surveys. MySurvey123.com is one place to start which lists places that pay for your opinion.

Downsize By Selling – There has always been a easy way to generate quick extra income and that is by selling off some of those extras you no longer need. You can basically flip old, gently used possessions that you no longer have a use for into cash. This can be clothing, furnishings, tools and whatever. You can make any amount of money doing this by hosting a yard/garage sale or advertising items for sale online at any number of sites, with craigslist.org being the most popular. If you run out of possessions, read our article on Thrift Shop Flipping to learn how to re-sell and profit.
Work On The Road – How does this sound? Take the summer off, load up your RV and travel all over the country paying your way by performing odd jobs along your trip. It’s a great way to see the country and if you are on a budget, the part-time gigs you pick up along your journey will help stretch it. Imagine the interesting people and places you will meet and encounter. You can generate anywhere from $10 to $15 per hour doing just about anything to pay for meals and gas.
So there are just a few ideas to get you thinking. If you are in the process of retiring or going through a midlife transition of some kind, the last thing you should be concerned about is how you will continue to earn an income. In fact, there are several non-traditional ways to pay your way into and through retirement that offer a lot of flexibility and quick extra income as well.
